TRACEY GREGORY!!!

Congratulations Tracey! Email me at michellelapoint@yahoo.com with your mailing address, and we will get your prize right out to you! Thank you so much for Patricia Roebuck for being our sponsor this month!

and now - on to our big news!!!
OUR NEW CHALLENGE FORMAT:

We know we share one basic thing with all of you out there, whether you participate regularly, once in awhile, or just come here to see what we are up to. We all have a passion for music! We also know that we are all so very different - when it comes to what kind of music inspires us; and also how much time we have available for creating. With these two things in mind, here's what we're going to do starting on April 1st...

We will be having our challenges twice a month, instead of every week. Each time we post however, we will be giving you TWO choices/challenges.

The first will be a song prompt, just like we've been doing all along. The second prompt will also be music-related, but it might be a question, or a subject, or anything else we decide to come up with! You can choose to do the song, or the question, or both, and you will have two weeks to link us up!

Sound fun?
We hope so! We've already been having a blast coming up with our new songs and prompts, and we can't wait to share them with you!

If you have questions, leave them in the comments section and we will do our best to answer them when we come back on April 1st to share our first set of prompts with you!

There are so many chances for inspiration with these beautiful, reflective lyrics. Check them out by clicking the tab above. We loved creating with this song, and we hope you will too!

Here are the design team layouts for "Just Breathe..."

Michelle

This song inspires me to think about all of the little things I'm grateful for in my life. My husband Michael took this photo out of a plane window on one of our trips. I'm always mesmerized by our ability to fly over the clouds like that. It's just one example of the amazing beauty all around us.

I have always loved this song, and wanted to scrap these photos that were taken during our trip to California last December. Our drive through Big Sur was so beautiful - yep, just breathe!

Almost 22 years have gone by since we spent our vacation at the North Sea, but I still remember the salty air that we breathed in.

I had to go with the lyrics, "Hold Me" for this song. My daughter is now 3 1/2 and still says this, although, she is also starting to say put me down more often. But she was a clingy little baby and girl, especially first coming home from China. We did everything with one arm.

and now....

ON TO THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE!!!!!

This week we have the beautiful classic "Leather and Lace," by Stevie Nicks and Don Henley. Check out the video below...

It may be a love song, but we discovered (as you will see below), there are so many different ways this song can be scrapped! Check out the lyrics by clicking on the tab at the top of the page!

Here are the design team projects for "Leather and Lace..."

The lyric I chose from the song, inspired me to do some journaling about my spirituality, and the questions I sometimes have. After writing it all out, I covered it with translucent paint and designed my art journal page with the quote on top of it. You can't really read it anymore, but it doesn't matter, because the symbolism is still there for me.

This is a photo of my daughter and her friend after one of their rehearsals for this year's high school musical. I was taken by how happy they both look, and just wanted to freeze this moment in time. So I chose to used the lyric "Stay" for my layout this week.

Snips of the city where I live, I don't call it my city.

Linda

I picked the lyrics, "You in the moonlight" because it was so funny how my daughter wanted to run outside with me to get a picture of the beautiful sunset and the moon. So glad I snapped a picture of her imitating me taking a picture with her pretend Mickey phone.

Now it's Your Turn!

Michelle
There are so many good lines in this song, it was hard to choose what I wanted to do! In the end, I decided I wanted to do a playful page that expresses who I am, and my art journal seemed like the best place to capture that! I played around with my favorite colors and patterns, and used gesso to include my own handprints. This was a lot of fun!

I love this song . . . when I listened to the lyrics, it was difficult for me to chose the one I liked best! But I thought of the piano recital that Anne was just in - I was asked to play a duet with her and I was absolutely THRILLED to do so! We played "You'll be in my heart," one of my favorite songs. We both felt musical that day!

I read the lyrics as I normally do and the words "the best ME that I can be" are the ones I like the best. I took pictures of little me, which I edited with Photoshop and printed for another project I didn't realize yet.

Patricia
My daughter and I were watching Sesame Street when this song first came out. I had found it on YouTube, and we watched and listened over and over again. One of our favorite songs.

That is what I really wish for my son.

Amy
The lyrics to this song are so amazing. I'm sure I'll use them again for another project. :) I originally started this as a paper & scissors project, and then went digital, because I decided the lyrics were so cool, I wanted to print this on a canvas for my sweetheart's room.

Now it's Your Turn!

Participant Layouts for "Every Time We Touch" and We Want Your Feedback...

This week we only had two participants for our "Every Time We Touch" challenge, and their layouts are BOTH GORGEOUS!!! I thought instead of making a slideshow, it would be more appropriate to just post them both here! In no particular order we've got

this beautiful and touching layout submitted by HER...

and this equally beautiful and so romantic layout from Leintje...
Thank you so much to both of you for playing along with us this week! and CONGRATULATIONS to both of you! We can't pick between you, so you are both going into the STM Hall of FAME!!!

Tomorrow night we will be back with the new challenge, but in the meantime, we want to hear from you! What could we do to make it easier and/or more fun to participate in our challenges? We are sooooo EXCITED about encouraging and inspiring you with music! We want to know how we can best do that. Help us brainstorm! What are your thoughts?
